Privacy policy
The short version: Tasca does not collect anything about you, because it has nowhere to put it.
What the app collects
Nothing. Tasca has no account system, no user identifier, no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK and no third party crash reporting service. There is no server holding your trips, because there is no server.
Where your data lives
Your trips, expenses, categories, exchange rates and settings are stored in a database on your iPhone, protected by iOS file protection, which means the store is encrypted while your device is locked.
If you turn on iCloud sync, that data is also stored in your own private iCloud container so it can move between your devices. That container belongs to your Apple account. We cannot read it, and neither can anyone else without your Apple credentials. iCloud sync is optional and can be turned off.
What leaves your device
One request, to frankfurter.dev, asking for European Central Bank reference exchange rates. That request contains currency codes and a date. It does not contain your expenses, your trips, your location, a device identifier or anything that identifies you.
If you choose to send a feature suggestion from inside the app, the message you type is sent along with the subject, and optionally a short diagnostic block containing the app version, iOS version, locale and device model if you tick that box. No trip data, no amounts and no personal details are attached.
Camera and photos
The receipt scanner uses your camera or a photo you pick, and recognises text on device using Apple's Vision framework. The image is not uploaded anywhere and Tasca does not keep it once you have saved the expense. Tasca asks for permission to add to your photo library only when you save a stats card, and only writes the image you asked it to save.
No bank connections
Tasca never asks for banking credentials, card numbers or account access, and has no integration with any financial institution or aggregation service. You enter what you spend, or scan a receipt.
Children
Tasca is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or delete on request. Your own copy is yours to export at any time as CSV, JSON or PDF, and deleting the app removes the local database with it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Any change that affected what leaves your device would be described here in plain terms.
