Tasca

Log from the Home Screen, the Lock Screen or by talking

The fastest expense to log is the one you never open the app for. Tasca puts today's number where you already look and takes entries from wherever you happen to be.

  • Widget

Today's remaining allowance and trip pace on your Home Screen.

  • Live Activity

An active trip on the Lock Screen while it is running.

  • Siri

"Log expense in Tasca" from the Action button, CarPlay or your wrist.

A widget you can act on at a glance

The Home Screen widget shows the active trip and what is left today, updated as you log. It is the difference between checking your budget when you remember to and seeing it every time you unlock your phone, which is the difference between a budget that works and one that does not.

Siri and Shortcuts

Tasca ships an App Intent for logging an expense, so "Log expense in Tasca" works from Siri without you setting anything up. The same intent is available in the Shortcuts app, which means you can build it into an automation: log a fixed amount when you arrive somewhere, or wire it to the Action button on an iPhone that has one.

Because it is a system intent, it works from your Watch, CarPlay and AirPods too.

  • "Log expense in Tasca", "Add expense to Tasca", "Track spend in Tasca"
  • Pick the trip and category as parameters in Shortcuts
  • Runs against the active trip by default

Common questions

What does the widget show?

The active trip and today's remaining allowance, plus the trip pace. It updates from a snapshot the app writes, so it stays current without draining the battery.

Do I need to set up the Siri phrase?

No. Tasca declares the phrases itself, so they appear in the Shortcuts app and work with Siri as soon as you have opened the app once.

Does the Live Activity drain the battery?

No more than any other Live Activity. It updates when your trip data changes rather than polling.
